Pipe Bursting

We are continuing our efforts to dive into the trench less technologies with Pipe Bursting. In Europe it is a very popular way to rehabilitate pipelines. Becoming more prominent here, we bursted a couple of thousand feet of 18" clay pipe in Green Bay and replaced it with a 22" O.D. HDPE pipe. The project was the first of its kind in Green Bay and was performed for the GBMSD.

Pipe bursting is a great method of rehabbing existing pipelines. It is accomplished by pulling a new pipe into an existing pipe statically or pneumatically. In order to have space to accommodate the new pipe, an expansion head is attached to the new pipe to lead the way through the existing pipe.
